Winterfest

Winterfest is a great family-friendly opportunity to celebrate winter and be active out of doors during one of the colder months. Indoor & outdoor activities for all ages include horse drawn wagon rides, ice bowling, a recycled sled contest (judging at 2:30), a duckie race (3:15, $1/duck), story time offered by the Erie County Public Library (12:15, 1:15, 2:15), a family nature walk at 12:15, a winter scavenger hunt, snow painting, a craft activity to decorate one of the trees in the arboretum for the birds, and an ice-fishing demonstration by the S.ON.S. of Lake Erie. Face painting, food and hot beverages are available for a fee.

Recycled Sled Contest sponsored by The Knox Law Firm – Calling boys & girls of all ages!

Here is your chance to help the environment by using your imagination & recycled materials to build a sled! Prizes will be awarded for ages 7 & under and 8-12 for the sled that:

  • Goes the furthest
  • Utilizes the greatest variety of materials

Suggested materials:

  • Plastic containers
  • Cardboard
  • Rope
  • Old garbage cans
  • Wood
  • Please do not use anything sharp & dangerous!

Sled judging will be held at 2:30 p.m.!
